updating and printing off of Excel reports. Once you have your queries set
up and your Excel files linked you simply select the report from the list,
then click OK. Then the report is updated, saved and printed,
this whole process can literally take only a few seconds to complete,
however can potentially save you hours of work!
The
PrintExcel Wizard lets you produce your Excel reports in almost the
same fashion and with the same level of ease as producing Microsoft Access reports.
Once your set up, you can effortlessly take advantage of the unique
differences between Microsoft Access and Excel, you get the dynamic aggregating,
filtering and number crunching power of Microsoft Access queries, combined with the
charting, calculating and presentation capabilities of Excel.
How it works - the automation
process...
1. When
you run the PrintExcel Wizard a specified queries data is
outputted to a set file path
2. Automatically Excel is then
opened
3. The output file is then opened
4. An existing Excel report template file
is opened (this file has been prior linked to the output file path)
5. As both the output file and the
report template file are open in the Excel session, automatically links will refresh
6. Then the report template file is
automatically printed (if the option selected), then file is saved and
Excel is closed
(The
report template file - is an Excel file you have set up that has all the
formatting and formulas you need on an ongoing basis, this file has been linked to the data
of the Microsoft Access query output file.)
